A New Year checklist

Look ahead to find savings

The beginning of the New Year is an excellent time to consider your printing needs for the year ahead.  Here are eight tips that can help you plan ahead and help find potential cost savings:

  • Do you need to print more letterhead, labels or other stationery?  Do any stationery items need changes?  Are any stationery items obsolete?

  • How many people in your organization need more business cards?

  • Do you need more invoices or other company forms?  Do any of your forms need updating?

  • Check your supply of company brochures, product sheets and other literature.  Are any changes necessary?

  • Do you need materials for trade shows, seminars or other events?

  • Have you updated your customer database recently?  This could be an excellent time to send out a mailing to help validate the customer information you have on file.

  • Do you need coupons, flyers or POS materials for a sale event or a special offer?

  • Do you need to print tickets, invitations or programs for a fundraiser or other special event?

Quick tips

You can sometimes save money by printing several similar jobs at the same time rather than individually.

If you print business cards using more than one color, you may be able to save money by preprinting business card shells with your company's static information and then  overprinting the shells with details as required when there are staff changes.
